Questions
How does it know what music fits?
Your browser watches the video: brightness, colours, movement and scene cuts, and how loud the sound is. A few still pictures (one per scene) are studied to describe each scene and write a music plan — calm, building, emotional, energetic — and the music engine composes one continuous piece that changes with the scenes.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Only small still pictures, the scene measurements and your choices are sent. If you tick “Also understand the words”, the sound (not the picture) is sent for speech recognition. The final video with music is made on your device.
What about a vocal or voice-over?
Upload the recording (MP3, WAV or M4A). Beathex follows its loudness and, for singing with a steady beat, its tempo, and makes instrumental music to sit under it. The music is not tuned to the singer’s key, so it suits voice-overs, speeches and spoken poetry best.
Will the music cover the voices in my video?
It is instrumental only, and “Lower the music while someone speaks” turns it down automatically under speech in the saved video. You choose the music volume too.
How long can my video or song be?
From 5 seconds to 60 minutes. Long pieces are composed in parts that follow the plan and are joined with smooth crossfades, so they take longer to make — several minutes for an hour. Very large videos (over about 1.2 GB) cannot be mixed in the browser: download the music and add it in your editor.
